A recent review paper of our newest lab member, Maxim Molodtsov, entitled "Biophysics of mitosis" has recently appeared in print in Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics. Here's the link to the online version of the paper.
Robert has recently been awarded a prestigious Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship from the European Union. The so-called Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships are awarded to researchers working in countries outside Europe irrespective of nationality and provide support for the scientist’s work at a European partner institution for up to two years. Congratulations Robert!
Aimee Heinrichs, a Masters Student of our collaborator Thomas Jennewein at the Institute of Quantum Computing in Waterloo, Canada, is currently visiting our lab to work on an IQC-IMP/MFPL collaboration project. Welcome Aimee, we hope you enjoy Austrian culture and research during your stay!
We have currently open Masters (Diploma) and PhD positions. Several projects on development of new structural and functional bio-imaging techniques (e.g. super-resolution microscopy), optogentic techniques for ultrafast optical control of neuronal activity and circuit mapping and projects targeted towards experimental and theoretical studies of the possible relevance of quantum effects in biological systems.
